 Welcome Aboard Michael Romo
We are pleased to announce Michael Romo as our new Burbank - Glendale UniServ Executive Director. Michael comes to us from UTLA where he was a field representative in charge of over 100 sites and 5,000 teachers. We feel he will be a great addition to the Burbank Teachers Association.
Michael has extensive experience in negotiations, representing members, and dealing with administrators. He was on three UTLA negotiating teams and has experience in writing contract language. Michael has been involved in contract enforcement, credential issues, and grievance procedures for UTLA members. He also has helped create the LAUSD/UTLA PAR program and has designed professional development training for teachers and UniServ staff. His experience makes him ready to represent Burbank teachers from day one.
Michael has an excellent background in organizing and training local chapters. He designed and coordinated the training for site representatives with UTLA and helped educate members about NCLB requirements. He has also conducted School Site Council Training and has assisted CTA as a trainer in leadership conferences. Michael will be a great asset to Burbank teachers as we continue to organize and involve our members.
We are very excited to have Michael working with the teachers of Burbank. With his extensive experience and knowledge in representing the concerns of educators, he will be a great addition to our team. |
